Spinal Decompression - Axiom DRX9000
Here’s news about one of the most advanced, non-surgical treatments for lower back and neck pain associated with herniated and degenerative disc.
The product is the Axiom DRX 9000C which is is the first non-surgical decompression system cleared by the FDA for cervical decompression. The DRX9000C relieves back pain by:
- enlarging disc space,
- reducing herniation,
- strengthening outer ligaments to help move herniated areas back into place
- reversing high intra-disc pressures through the application of negative pressure.
Treatment results published in the American Journal of Pain Management suggest a success rate of over 80% with patients who suffer from lower back pain. Clinical studies have shown a better than 72% success rate in treating neck pain due to herniated, bulging or degenerative disc disease using the DRX 9000C after only four to six weeks of treatment.
Pre and Post treatment MRIs have shown greater than 50% reduction in size and extent of herniations after 4 weeks of treatment with the DRX 9000C.
How Non-surgical Spinal Decompression Works:
The technique originated when NASA found that during the weightless portion of space missions, astronauts were relieved of low back pain. It also found that disc height actually increased during missions. NASA then investigated the effects of space travels on spinal decompression’ which led to the development of advanced technology to reproduce the effects on earth.
By decompressing the lumbar and cervical discs pressure is relieved on the spinal nerves that is often caused by disc herniations, degenerative disease, sciatica or posterior facet syndrome.

Does Spinal Decompression Work?
There's a lot of talk about spinal decompression as the latest and greatest sciatica treatment at the moment, especially in relation to the system that uses the DRX9000 machine. It has been shown that the DRX9000 system can give great results, however its NOT A MAGIC BULLET. It needs to be used in conjunction with a home care regimen and exercise program and has very specific treatment procedures that must be followed in order to give the DRX the best chance of working. Unfortunately, some patients are hoping for the elusive magic bullet - the magic pill as it were Chiropractors report conversations such
Osteopaths vs Chiropractors - Which One To Choose?
Osteopaths and Chiropractors are trained for the same period - they both follow a 5 year training course. In my opinion the choice is somewhat like saying Ford is better than Chevy or Man Utd are a better soccer team than Liverpool - it's a very subjective choice. (Soccer afficionados of course know that it is absolutely the truth that Man Utd are better than Liverpool!) If you want to know which out of Osteopaths and Chiropractors is best right now, without reading any further the answer is: Find someone you know and trust who uses an Osteopath or Chiropractor and if they can wholeheartedly recommend their practitioner to you,
How Chiropractors Treat Back Pain & Sciatica
Chiropractors regard your spine as the major influence on your overall health, because all the organs in your body depend upon the spinal cord (nerve) for the transmission of vital messages relayed backwards and forwards between your organs and your brain. If your spine is injured or misaligned, this interferes with the transmission of these messages. Chiropractors diagnose spine and joint problems with the help of X-rays. They are also able to detect various conditions of your spine, including the surrounding muscles with their hands. Chiropractic treatment is based upon ensuring your spine is in correct alignment so that it can function

The Basics Of Your Back & How To Look After It
One of the things we recommend is for you to expand your understanding of your back and how it all works (we suggest you register the free Back Health Course for this reason). Why? Because you'll get to see what an amazing mechanism it is and (I hope) appreciate how and why you should look after it. What's In Your Spine? Your spine is a column of 26 bones that extend in a line from the base of your skull to your pelvis. Twenty-four of these bones are called vertebrae. These link to each other and are cushioned by shock-absorbing disks that lie between them. Your

I am looking for specific diet choices that I can make to help reduce inflamation around herniated disks L4-5 S1.
Hi Jeremy,
We suggest you focus on eating as many fresh, natural foods as possible. A balance of wholegrains, mixed vegetables, lean meat or fish. Best of all if you can buy organic foods from a local source.
Howver, even if you are careful about what you eat, its still likely you’ll be missing trace elements that your body needs to function properly.
The effects of missing these trace elements are general tiredness, random and often strange health complaints.
So take a wholefood supplement to get these trace elements back into your body (a wholefood supplement is much better than vitamin pills). We suggest the Body Balance Food Supplement from Lifeforce international. Google it and you can often find somebody offering a months free supply.
I am a careful eater and exercise regularly and I was surprised by how much better I felt after taking Body Balance for a couple of weeks.
Good luck.
